Mostly, he’s a Caretaker.

Originally,

of the Gun Club in El Campo.

Now of the RV park where members of the Border Patrol Auxiliary sleep.

He spent years in the desert of Kuwait.

Fixing ships.

Now he spends his time in the desert of California.

His hobbies include,

sweeping the grounds,

smoking cigarettes,

hanging with his dogs,

fixing busted parts of the border fence,

and cleaning his pistols.

He’s also a sales rep of sorts for Wellness Pro Vitamin Supplements.

go figure.

he is Ronald J. Hoebeck Sr.

aka Captain Ron.

…..

About 500 years ago, no one really lived here.

Well, except of course, thousands of Native Americans.

Though Spain claimed it as her own.

Then some guys discovered a little silver.

Then some copper, then some zinc.

And we know how precious metals can be.

So 300 years later, the US bought a bunch of land from the French.

Then Texas had a culture clash.

Treaties failed, revolutions ensued, and a war was waged.

All eyes were on California.

…..

…..

After thousands of miles of railroad was laid,

and countless hectares of land farmed,

and many metals mined,

Eisenhower created Operation Wetback.

Seriously.

Then Operation Gatekeeper

Operation Endgame

Operation Front Line

Operation Return to Sender

Operation Scheduled Departure

It’s  just as complicated as it was 500 years ago.

Now what?
