In 1980, Steve Jobs told a story.

It was about the efficiency of locomotion of various species (including us).

How many kilo-calories per kilometer did each animal spend to move?

The condor won.

Humans were about a third of the way down on the list.

Not an impressive showing.

But then they measured a human on a bicycle.

We killed it.

Far exceeding the efficiency of the condor.

It was the clearest example of how we’re fundamentally toolmakers.

After this experiment, Steve declared the computer a bicycle for the mind.

33 years later, Steve’s idea for a mobile tool box in your hands is coming to fruition.

One app at a time.
